Anant Original’s hosts Pearl Art made by marginalized women of colour from low socio-economic background who are running their small art business to meet their daily needs.

Anant’s Original • Story

Anant’s originals story:

Led by Jaya, who lives in a remote place of Banaskantha District, Gujarat. Jaya was married at a very young age in a non-safe domestic violent environment, to overcome her situations and look after her two lovely kids, Jaya showed true resilience in her life by deciding to leave the abusive household with her kids, and put her art skills to work in order to survive and look after her kids.

Jaya creates customized pearl art for objects and artifacts that can be found around a common household, her art is true representation of her culture and tradition. She later empowered other women around her to create their art products and sell around neighborhood during festivals and celebrations. These group of women work day and night to live an independent life, look after their kids, and earn a living and afford to send their kids to schools.

We at Anant are proud to host the products made by Jaya and take any custom requests that a consumer might have for a pearl art projects, embroidery based projects, custom cloth tailoring projects and many more!
